Takeo Drive and Shibui House – Two unique ideas coming together to provide a special opportunity in a great location. This concept is for those who are looking to build into a community – either to live, holiday or for long-term/seasonal rentals.

Takeo Drive gets its name from Takeo Arishima, a writer and philanthropist who lived 100 years ago. He was not originally from Niseko but he fell in love with its beauty and gave away all his land to local tenant farmers. There is now a museum in his honor located nearby. The developers of Takeo Drive want to bring something different to the market with three key pillars driving this project – Value, Inspiration and Appreciation.

Shibui House is a modern interpretation of the old Japanese farmhouse (Kominka), using hardwood harvested from these old Japanese farmhouses. The homes are brought up from Shirakawa-go in Gifu, an area that has gained UNESCO World Heritage status. Heritage Homes buys, dismantles, restores and relocates these 100-year-old Kominkas for customers all over Japan.

Heritage Homes prides itself on being a eco developer. The rural population in Japan is shrinking and this has lead to many homes becoming abandoned. Heritage Homes is addressing this issue by up-cycling the materials within these Kominkas and ensures that traditional Japanese design is preserved. Modern eco friendly techniques are being used to provide the new structures with more sustainable heating control e.g. thick eco fibre insulation and triple glazed windows keeping the house well insulated.
